We redesigned and implemented a Year 2000 Data
Repository for T. Rowe Price's Year 2000 Program Office. The system was
initially developed using Microsoft Access '95 for the initial pilot and then
migrated to Access '97 for the user interface front end. Logic Works ER Win was
used to provide logical and physical design diagrams to assist in the analysis,
restructure, and schema modification of the data repository. Extensions were
added, as needed, to support the nine T. Rowe business units. Specialty modules
were also developed to support the Investment department's analysis of
organization compliance and the Enterprise Business continuity efforts. The
application received laudatory comments in recent meetings of the T. Rowe Price
Steering Committee. The data repository has an integral role in the management,
tracking, and recording of T. Rowe efforts in achieving Y2K compliance. Other
responsibilities include management and maintenance of the enterprise Year 2000
consolidated project plan using MS Project 98.
